N- Natural Beauty.

New research shows that almonds may help improve the appearance of facial wrinkles and skin tone. A study conducted at U.C. Yes, Almonds are the perfect food to include in your food-eating plan if you want to lose weight or maintain a healthy weight. Since almonds are rich in fiber, protein, and healthy monounsaturated fats, all these components work together to make you feel full. This in turn prevents us from overeating and lowers our overall caloric intake. Of course, this works when eating balanced meals and getting in regular movement.

S- Sweetness.

California Almonds have a natural sweetness. You seriously can put your sweet tooth at bay and grab a handful of almonds to curb that sweet craving. Notice I particularly call out ‘California’ Almonds. That is intentional and I’ll tell you why. As California grows 80% of the world’s almonds, believe it or not, we still import a lot!

Imported almonds, particularly from Europe, are very different varieties. They are much more bitter tasting than the sweet California variety of almonds. I like to explain almonds as wine grapes when it comes to the vast array of different almond varieties. Our family farm grows about a dozen different almond varieties here in Chico, CA. I am even partial and think that our ultra nutrient-rich soils up here comprised of clay and loam that’s derived from volcanic rocks offer soil that produces sweeter almonds than from the central part of the state where their soil is clay and loam dominantly granitic rock sourced. I may be a bit partial to being a native Chico farm girl though. Bottom line, eat more California Almonds…. And we LOVE the supporters of our Chico, CA family farm!
