Oooh! It was cold last night. So what did I want to do? Make something yummy in the kitchen! This time it was my favorite Almond Nut Bread with Crystalized Ginger and Dates. Add some cream cheese or almond butter and a nice hot cup of tea and you’re in for a fragrant and delicious harvest season taste treat. Delicious!
Like many of my favorite recipes, this one offers the opportunity to improvise. I love crystalized ginger and dates so I suggest that in this recipe but if you’re not a fan of those choices, feel free to substitute something you’ll enjoy. Chopped Fuyu persimmons straight from the tree were a big hit one year. Chopped dried apricots, plums, raisins or currents have all worked well—have fun!
