In our Maisie Jane’s Beer Can Chicken Basket, the chicken is really the main event! So we thought, before you buy, you may be curious how to make this delicious chicken entrée with the kit. The directions are easy and anybody can do this!
Here’s the ingredients list and instructions from Gourmet Village’s Beer Can Chicken:
Ingredients
1 pouch (3 tbsp/45 ml) of Beer Can Chicken seasoning
1 whole chicken
1 12 oz (355 ml) can of beer
2 tsp (10 ml) olive oil
3 tbsp (45 ml) ketchup
Cooking Instructions
Preheat oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit (200 Celsius). Place ceramic chicken baker into a dish to catch the dripping. This is also where you could add vegetables for roasting with the chicken.
Combine 2 tbsp (30 ml) beer can seasoning in a small mixing bowl with olive oil. Set aside. Remove giblets and the neck from the chicken. Rub the chicken with the seasoning and oil mixture. Combine 6 oz (175 ml) beer with remaining 1 tbsp (15ml) dry seasoning and ketchup and pour into tube of ceramic chicken baker. Place chicken baker on a heat proof dish to catch the drippings as it cooks. Place chicken on top of tube and place in oven for 1.5-2 hours, until internal temperature of chicken thigh is 185 degrees Fahrenheit (85 degrees Celsius).
If using a BBQ, grill over indirect medium heat and use same instructions as oven.
When finished cooking, leave the baked chicken on roaster for 10 minutes before removing to carve.
